Just after you've passed Tofta Beach and caught a glimpse of Gotland's golf pride, Kronholmen, you'll go by Stelor restaurant and hotel, and then quickly reach the village of Västergarn. It's a small village right by the coast, with a cozy little fishing village and harbor, plus three exciting swimming spots to try out. It takes about 30 minutes to drive here from your Vidhave accommodation.

Fishing harbor and swimming

When you park down by the fishing village, you'll find three beaches within about a 150m walk. Just south of the parking area, there's a playground, and beyond the sand dunes, you'll discover a fantastic beach perfect for relaxing and swimming. If you instead walk through the fishing village's red cottages and out to the back, you'll find a very shallow beach that's great for small children and whole families. This beach is smaller, but on the other hand, you'll rarely see more than a couple of other swimmers here at the same time.

You can also walk out onto the pier to the harbor. At the very end, there's a swimming ladder and you can jump in from all sides of the pier. Just don't dive, it's not deep everywhere.
