A co-ownership at Vidhave is a convenient way to contribute to the development of an eco-friendly tourist destination built to accommodate guests all year round.
Your own stay is heavily discounted and when you are not here, we rent your house from you. We take care of everything, from taking care of the land to giving your guests a great experience.
Vidhave is built as a collective of owners.
Our homes are built sustainably on Visby's most beautiful beach plot. Here we build for the whole year with high standards. To achieve this, we have adopted a new way of working together. In an owner collective! We shape it together with individuals and companies who share our passion for the place, who themselves want to stay here and/or are attracted to it as an investment where the income from the rental is included.
We call it collective destination development.
Our owners are members of housing associations. Together with other members, they own the land which makes them co-owners of the area.
An important way for Vidhave to reduce its carbon footprint is through increased utilization of the buildings we construct. We do this by renting out our accommodation as villa hotels when not in use by the owners.
The majority of the rental income then goes to the owner in a hassle-free way. We add the services needed for hotel standard and take care of all the practicalities. Both for guests and for the owners when they are not on site.
In this way, we get a higher utilization rate from constructions and give more people the opportunity to enjoy nature and the place.
Our first collective initiative is in the BRF Skogsnyckeln. There, all houses have contact with the water and invite people to discover nature and their surroundings.
The houses are built in solid wood, have large patios and beautiful interiors. We are happy to help you buy a house here by asking members if anyone is interested in selling.
Our latest housing association has just had its premiere and its first hotel guests. Here we have continued with the same environmental goals and aesthetic appearance that we premiered last year in the neighboring area. The association's 23 shares all come with their own patio and outstanding views.
Here's a new option for couples looking for a cozy get-away. Our Tinyhouse and Tiny Villa have two beds in a cozy setting, complete with bathroom and full kitchen. Two Leaf also adds another 8 Bungalows, our family houses with 4 beds.
The association is set up as a non-profit association and is suitable for both private individuals and companies as owners.
"We have been inspired by our Gotland fishing villages. Their irregular architecture drapes nature & welcomes discovery."

The 46 square meter bungalow has plenty of room for four people to enjoy themselves. Nature is close by in all seasons. In the summer, you'll socialize daily on the veranda, and in the winter you'll enjoy the storms of the sea outside the spectacular windows.
The timbered solid wood walls keep you warm in the winter, cool in the summer and dampen the sound of the sea and wind. The whole building is constructed and maintained in an environmentally friendly way. The houses are equipped with washing machine, and complete kitchen with dishwasher.

With two separate houses connected by a terrace, there is plenty of room for eight people. Together, the houses are about 92 square meters with a living room in each house.
The glass sections in the large living room let nature in, even for those standing in the outward-facing kitchen.
There is plenty of room for two families to socialize and the four bedrooms sleep a total of eight people. Both houses of course have their own toilet and the bathroom is located in the sleeping area. In the summer you include the veranda in your daily life. During the rest of the year, you enjoy the warmth of the indoors with the sea and the spectacle of nature in the front row. The houses are equipped with a washing machine and the complete kitchen has of course a dishwasher.
Inspired by trendy accommodation on wheels, we have created a modern accommodation for two at the sea front. They have an exciting design for two residents in a shared bed. Our Tinyhouse shares an outer wall with another Tinyhouse and is available with an entrance from the North or South. They are about 21 square meters and are located in an unobstructed location with tangible contact with the sea and forest.
These are properly built houses with timbered solid wood walls, properly soundproofed and keep you warm in winter, cool in summer. The whole building is constructed and managed in an environmentally friendly way. The houses are equipped with washing machine, and complete kitchen with dishwasher.

We have borrowed the shape of our mini-villas from Gotland's lamb fields and created a cozy accommodation for two. Like in a meadow but with a view of the sea. The interior design allows both visitors and a surprising amount of space to just be.

Natural materials
Our houses are built in solid wood and have a smaller environmental footprint than other construction methods. The modern timber houses are similar to a horizontal panel construction and do not require additional plastic or insulation and can be recycled. They sequester large amounts of carbon dioxide and are very energy efficient. They are efficient to produce and become sustainable houses that last for hundreds of years.
Recycling and reuse
The houses are built on a concrete slab and have heated floors. The slab is plastered, which saves additional surface layers and their transportation to the island. Our locally produced cement has a light tone which makes for very beautiful floors. Our area is prepared to be able to choose water sources that do not exploit Gotland's water reserves where it is not needed. The south-facing roofs are leased to a future solar farm that produces electricity for the area.
Low consumption
Heat is generated by a central heat pump for the area with exchange with heat from the sea. In summer, cooling comes from exchange with the cold bottom of the sea. All buildings have carefully selected materials to reduce the impact on both nature and transportation.
Breathable indoor climate
Our solid log walls are naturally breathable, so indoor humidity is even and breathing air is deliciously comfortable. When the relative humidity of indoor air is balanced, mold and bacteria cannot grow. The heat-insulating and moisture-regulating properties of wood prevent the growth of harmful microorganisms. The construction also almost completely removes static electricity and reduces the amount of dust formed in your house.
Views and discovery
We've planned our area to bring all members into contact with the water and to encourage others to explore. Here you will be curious to see the whole area, explore the next bend and find the paths that lead to the sea, the forest and our other exciting places for long and short trips. Cars are parked in groups where they are least visible in the view and where necessary they are hidden under grass roofs. The natural slope of the land gives even the rear houses a view of the sea. The road that winds from the parking lot to the houses keeps the speed down. At each house, a private sphere is created with minimum visibility from neighbors.
You have the opportunity to let someone else experience your house when you are not using it yourself. In addition to sharing, you are doing the environment a favor when heated houses are used. To top it off, you get a large share of the revenue.
When your house is empty, our agency works to rent it out. We take care of all the practicalities, such as finding customers, taking care of your guests and keeping track of your house. It's super easy and makes good financial sense!
Feel free to contact us and we will share a description of how it works, as an investment or as a cheap summer home for the family!
Until Vidhave has developed into a year-round destination, our results are mainly made in the summer. Autumn, spring & winter also provide income, but there are fewer guests and a lower compensation. We use statistics based only on summer rentals when we help owners with statistics and data. With two years of summer rentals completed, we note that the compensation almost completely reaches the cost of ownership with fees and interest.
