Thinking about owning your own place on Gotland? Our wooden villas are shares in housing cooperatives (BRF) and are perfect for year-round holidays. As an owner in these cooperatives, you can use your villa whenever suits you, for up to 3 months a year. When you're not here, we'll rent out your villa for you, and you'll get paid. It's a super easy way to own a home; we take care of everything, from managing the land to making sure your guests have an amazing experience.

Vidhave is being developed as an owner collective.
Our accommodations are built sustainably on Visby's most beautiful beachfront property. We build them to a high standard for year-round enjoyment. To make this happen, we've adopted a 'new-old' way of working together: an owner collective! We create this with individuals and companies who share our passion for this place, who want to stay here themselves, and/or are interested in it as an investment that includes rental income.
We call it collective destination development.
Owning in an eco-friendly way
Our owners are members of housing cooperatives. Together with other members, they own the land, which makes them co-owners of the area.
A key way for Vidhave to lower its carbon footprint is by making sure our buildings are used more often. We do this by renting out our accommodations as villa-hotels when the owners aren't using them.
Most of the rental income then goes straight to the owner, hassle-free! We provide all the services needed for a hotel-standard stay and take care of all the practical stuff. This works great for both our guests and for the owners when they're not around.
This way, our buildings are used more efficiently, and more people get the chance to enjoy the beautiful nature and our special spot.

Bungalow
Our 46 square meter Bungalows offer plenty of space for four people to enjoy. Here, nature is always close by, no matter the season. In summer, you can hang out on the veranda every day, and in winter, you can enjoy the ocean's storms from behind the spectacular windows.
The solid timber walls keep you warm in winter, cool in summer, and block out sounds from the sea and wind. The entire building is constructed and maintained in an eco-friendly way. The villas are fully furnished with beautiful Scandinavian design and include crockery in the complete kitchen, which has a dishwasher, washing machine, and TV.

Grand Villa
With two separate buildings connected by a deck, there's plenty of space for eight people. Together, the villas are about 92 square meters, with a living room in each building.
The large windows in the main living room let nature in, even for those in the outward-facing kitchen.
There's plenty of room here for two families to socialize, and the four bedrooms have a total of eight beds. Both villas naturally have their own toilet, and the bathroom is located in the sleeping area. In summer, you'll make the veranda part of your daily life. The rest of the year, you can enjoy the warmth indoors, with front-row seats to the ocean and nature's spectacle. The villas are equipped with a washing machine, and the fully equipped kitchen, of course, has a dishwasher.

Tinyhouse
Inspired by trendy 'homes on wheels,' we've created a modern accommodation for two, right by the sea. These excitingly designed units are perfect for two guests sharing a bed. Our Tinyhouses share an outer wall with another Tinyhouse and have entrances from either the North or South. They're about 21 sqm and are tucked away in a private spot, offering a real connection to the sea and forest.
These are well-built villas with solid timber walls, properly soundproofed, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. The entire building is constructed and maintained in an eco-friendly way. The villas come with a washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher.

Tiny Villa
We've borrowed the shape of our tiny villas from Gotland's traditional lamb shelters, creating a cozy place for two. It's like being in a meadow, but with amazing sea views. The interior is designed to welcome guests and still give you plenty of space to just chill out.
These are cozy, well-built semi-detached villas, about 21 sqm each, with solid timber walls. They're really well soundproofed to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. You can enter from either the North or South, and each has a patio facing west. The whole building is built and maintained in an eco-friendly way. Plus, each villa comes with a washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher.

Housing Association Skogsnyckeln
Our very first collective project is BRF Skogsnyckeln. All the homes there are connected to the water, inviting you to explore the beautiful nature and surroundings.
Our houses are crafted from solid wood, featuring spacious patios and lovely interiors. We're happy to help you find a house here by checking with our members if anyone is looking to sell.
Housing Association Tvåblad
Our latest housing cooperative just wrapped up its first season with hotel guests. Here, we've kept the same environmental goals and aesthetic vibe that we launched last year in the neighboring area. The cooperative's 23 shares all come with their own patio and amazing views.
We've got a new option here for couples looking for a cozy getaway. Our Tinyhouses and Tiny Villas have two beds in a comfy setting, complete with a bathroom and a full kitchen. Tvåblad also adds another 8 Bungalows, which are our family houses with 4 beds.
The association is set up to work well for both private individuals and companies who want to be owners. It's a great option for businesses.

Beautiful houses that are good for people and nature.
Natural Materials
Our houses are built with solid wood, which means they have a smaller impact on the environment compared to other building methods. These modern timber-framed houses look like they have horizontal paneling and don't need any extra plastic or insulation, plus they can be reused. The houses lock in a lot of carbon dioxide and are super energy-efficient. They're efficient to produce and become durable homes that will last for hundreds of years.
Recycling and Reuse
The houses are built on concrete slabs with heated floors. The slab is plastered, which saves on extra surface layers and their transport to the island. Our locally made cement has a light tone, creating really beautiful floors. Our area is set up to use water sources that don't tap into Gotland's water reserves where it's not needed. The south-facing roofs are leased to a future solar farm that will produce electricity for the area.
Low energy use
We get our heat from a central heat pump that uses the sea's warmth. And in summer, we cool things down by exchanging with the sea's cold bottom. All our buildings are made with carefully chosen materials to be kind to nature and reduce transport impact.
Indoor Climate That Breathes
Our solid log walls breathe naturally, which keeps the indoor humidity even and makes the air super pleasant to breathe. When the indoor air's relative humidity is balanced, mold and bacteria can't grow. The wood's heat-insulating and moisture-regulating properties stop harmful microorganisms from growing. The design also almost completely eliminates static electricity and reduces the amount of dust that builds up in your house.
Views and Discovery
We've designed our area so that all members have a connection to the water and to encourage others to explore too. Here, you'll be curious to see the whole area, explore the next bend, and find the paths that lead to the sea, the forest, and our other exciting spots for long and short excursions. Cars are parked in groups where they're least visible from the view, and where needed, they're hidden under green roofs. The natural slope of the land means even the houses further back get sea views. The winding road from the parking lot to the houses keeps speeds low. Each house has its own private space with minimal visibility from neighbors.
Better income from renting it out
If you like, you can let others enjoy your house when you're not there. Not only do you get to share, but you're also helping the environment by making sure heated homes are used. And to top it all off, you get a big chunk of the earnings!
When your house is empty, our rental service steps in to find guests for it. We take care of everything – finding guests, looking after them, and keeping an eye on your place. It's super easy and brings in good money!

Until Vidhave becomes a year-round destination, most of our earnings come from the summer. Autumn, spring, and winter also bring in some income, but with fewer guests and lower rates. For now, when we help owners with stats and info, we only use figures from summer rentals. After two years of summer rentals, we've found that the income almost completely covers the ownership costs, including fees and interest.
